AI and leadership: Solving four problems

The transition towards AI is impacting people and calling for new leadership capabilities and HR solutions at an unprecedented pace. Yet, solutions are few and insufficient.

Just before summer, we asked our network of professionals in HR, leadership development and AI if anyone wanted to help co-create solutions to real problems. The interest was tremendous, with sign-ups from 15 companies and organisations.

In August, we hosted an exploration workshop where we identified four problem clusters and a co-creation group for each.

These groups are now defining their problems and developing solutions, and on November 10, we are ready to present them to the world.

What are we solving for?

• Accountability and expectations: In the context of AI, what can we expect from our leaders, and how do we hold them accountable?
• When do we scale?: How do you judge the impact and dilemmas of bringing a specific AI tool into your team? What would it change, and is it a good candidate to pilot and then scale through the company’s formal processes (compliance, legal, etc.)?
• Mapping the impact of AI on skills: What happens when you introduce AI to specific workflows?  How do we preserve critical skills? How do we plan for talent development and retention in the age of AI?
• AI-ready and data-friendly behaviour: How do we make data stewardship a visible leadership priority?
